Summer learning journey: Day 12

  1. Kia Ora Ebony,

How was your Christmas time with your whanau? It is great to see that you have been busy completing activities over the last few days. Here at the Summer Learning Journey, everyone has had most of the Christmas and New Years break off, so it may take us a few days to comment on all of your blog posts. But we want to you know that we have seen how hard you are working, keep it up!

The Kereru is a beautiful bird, isn’t it? Up on our family farm we could look out from our deck and see Kereru flying from tree to tree. Here in my house in Auckland we don’t get to see them at all. Sometimes when I go walking in a nearby park, I will see one but not often. Do you see Kereru much at your house?

Teleportation would be a great super power! Imagine how much more sleep your could get instead of having to get up early so you can travel to school. I would love to be able to teleport so I don’t get stuck in all of the Auckland traffic on my way to work! Is your trip to school, quite short or quite long?

Ka pai, for creating a DLO with some interesting facts about Flying Fish. Did you learn anything while you were researching your facts? I didn’t realise they can fly for up to 45 seconds! Their wings are very beautiful as well, they remind me of fairy wings as they look very detailed and delicate.

I’m not sure where you got the images for your DLO, but just a quick friendly reminder. Every time that we use an image on our blog, it's really important that we tell our readers where we found it, and give credit to the owner of the picture. To properly credit a picture you will need to include a link to the site where you found the image. We have created a guide that you might find helpful. You can check it out here:

You will need to follow these instructions to earn full points for any Summer Learning Journey activity that has asked you to post an image :)

I look forward to reading more of your posts soon!

    Blog ya later,

  2. Kia Ora Ebony,

You have done an amazing job over the summer, it is a massive achievement to finish the entire Summer Learning Journey programme. All 60 activities! You will have to give yourself a pat on the back! Have you enjoyed the Summer Learning Journey ? I certainly have! My favourite activity was the hotel design activity. I looked seeing how creative and unique all the different hotels!

I hope to see you back next summer for next Summer Learning Journey!

    Blog ya later!
