Problem solving

Today we have been learning how to do 100 times tables using problem solving.  The hard part was understanding where to put the zero's. The easy part was finding an answer. My next step is to learn how to times by 1000's.

Sc: 

•  add right to left start at ones column 
• When times by 10 add one zero ( into the ones column )
• When times by 100 add two zero's ( into the ones and tens column )

This week in math we have been learning about planets and how many times it can go around the sun in one year.

Math worms

This week we have been learning how to problem solve using a hundreds chart and 4 blocks. We had to use our four blocks to line up with four numbers but one had to always be touching one orange square. Once we had four numbers E.g 64,74,84 and 94 we had to add them all together.

The easy part was picking the numbers and adding them together.
The hard part was find something challenging
My next step is to learn how to times three digit numbers

Fractions

1.1/6 of 48 = 4

48 ÷ 6 = 4
4 x 1 =4

Decimals

Today we were learning to times decimals. The hard part was finding the right answer. The easy part was asking a friend for help. My next step is to learn how to times decimals fluently .

The Deca tree

This week in math we had to solve how much leaves are on the tree. The easy part was working with others because I get to here there thinking. The hard part was finding the amount of leaves when I did not get the meaning of the problem. 

Roman numerals

This week we have been learning about Roman numerals the easy part was knowing that you can use the same letter three times was the hard part was finding the answer at the start because I didn't know what it was.

Factors and multiples

Factors and Multiples 

This week we have been learning about factors and multiples the easy part was dividing and multiplying to get the product the hard part was getting every answer for 120. My next step is to learn all my 12 times tables.

This week we are doing highest and lowest numbers using 4 number but we could only use 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. We could use +, -, x and ÷.

Maths reflection

This week I am learning to problem solve I can use vocab, teamwork,exploring and using talk moves. I need to work on looking for patterns and using a systemic table to organise my thinking.

Maths reflection

This week we were problem solving with teacups and saucers we had to put each teacup and saucer in a four by four table in each rows and columns .

• Easy part was using the blocks
• The hard part was putting each teacup in different columns   

Pangarau reflection

This week we were trying to make 37 with 10  numbers 1, 3, 5 and 7 and we found it was impossible because odd + odd = Even so then the teacher let us use 11 or 9 numbers and we found out it was possible. Here are my scores for how I went. 

• The easy part was using 9 numbers
• The hard part was using 11 or 10 numbers
• Next step is 12 timetables and division 

Maths reflection post

Today I am doing my Math Reflection post on math eyes math eyes is a strategy we have been learning about. The easy part is finding the angels and the perimeter of the picture the hard part is converting my words into questions. Next time I am going to learn about percentages and how to use them in math equations.

Today I learnt how to write 24 hour time.  I learnt that Midday is 1200 and Midnight is 2400 and the hard part was under standing the questions that the teacher asked me and the easy part was reading the clocks with the time on them here are some times you can try to answer

Te wa

This week we have been learning about 24 hour clocks and an analogue clocks the easy part was reading the time and the hard part was reading the time in 24 hours and my next step is to learn how to do 24 hour clocks in Maori.

Today we learnt how to do 3 digit divisions numbers here are some of the questions that we did.
